Тhe delegation of the Almaty region led by the regional akim Amandy Batalov visited Kostanay region. During the visit, the delegation visited a number of social and economic facilities such as the Bayan Sulu confectionery factory, in process of construction a large football indoor arena, the Kostanay automobile plant Saryarkaavtoprom, and the Kostanay industrial zone. The main event of the trip was the signing of a memorandum between akimats of Kostanay and Almaty regions. Akim of the Kostanay region, Archimed Mukhambetov, noted the similarity of the economies of the two regions, where industry and agriculture play a crucial role.

“It is worth noting the great work being done by the Almaty region on the industrialization of the region. These are 6 industrial zones, - noted A. Mukhambetov. - Our development vector is also aimed at industrializing and diversifying production. In recent years, 89 new productions have been launched in the region, which have produced products for 660 billion tenge, and 5.5 thousand new jobs have been created. Today we are already an agrarian-industrial region, the share of industry in the region's GRP is almost 25%. If we take the share of the manufacturing industry, then a few years ago we had 29%, now it is already 54%”. The head of Kostanay region especially noted the importance of the development of interregional cooperation. As it turned out, by the end of 2017, enterprises of the Kostanay region shipped products worth more than 9 billion tenge to the Almaty region.

Signed agreements on cooperation between enterprises in the region. Amandyk Batalov, in turn, spoke about the prospects for the development of a free economic zone of the Almaty region and opportunities for Kostanay business. “If, for example, Bayan-Sulu wants to open its 100-square-meter trade pavilion there, we will provide land,” said A. Batalov. The heads of the two regions signed a memorandum, and agreed that this contributes to further fruitful cooperation.
