Akim of the region Arkhimed Mukhambetov opened the forum “Kostanay Invest 2018” and reported on the current and planned investment projects in the region. The head of the region noted that the investment forum was held in the region for the first time last year, 28 memorandums for the amount of more than 200 billion tenge were signed that time. This year it is planned to sign 19 memorandums in the amount of 251 billion tenge. “The volume of foreign investments has almost doubled. Now we are working on 40 investment projects for 2 trillion 200 billion tenge, 13 of them include the foreign participation, three of them include the participation of Chinese investors” said A. Mukhambetov.

- At present, the agreements on production of televisions and computers in the territory of an industrial zone have already been signed. The project cost is 50 million dollars. Also, the production of tractors and agricultural equipment is planned on the base of the industrial zone of Kostanay, the cost of the project is 15,9 billion tenge.” Hangteng company plans to invest 150 million dollars in the vehicle production project, which will also be located in the industrial zone. Along with the abovementioned, by the end of the year, according to Akim of the region, CNC will complete its entry into the capital of Allur Group of Companies with the investment of 1 billion 200 million dollars, which will make it possible to produce up to 66 000 vehicles per year by 2023.

“In relation to the field of agro-industrial complex, the agricultural hub for advanced processing of the grain is now being created. The construction and installation works are scheduled for the next spring. The total cost of the project is more than 200 million dollars” said A. Mukhambetov. In addition to the creation of the industrial zone, the region has actively begun to create a cluster for the processing of agricultural products. For example, the construction of a large meat-processing complex is at the stage of completion in Arkalyk, the launch is scheduled for early November. At the same time, a commercial kitchen for the preparation of meals will be created at the released industrial site of Torgay bauxite mine group. The project’s partner will be the Russian company Cateringburg, which is among the top-5 Russian companies in the catering industry. “Now we are working on filling the industrial zone. At this moment, the issue on placement of 11 projects in the amount of 235 billion tenge has already been resolved. Thus, 37 tenge of investments will be raised for 1 tenge of the budget” said A. Mukhambetov.

- Taking into account the active development of the zone, we are working on the issue of giving it the status of the Special Economic Zone. Now this issue is being solved at the level of the Government. We remind that the second international investment forum has begun its work in Kostanay, it has already gathered together over a thousand of participants on its platform. The heads of national companies, representatives of government bodies, development institutions, international financial institutions and companies take part in this event. The ambassadors from Belgium, Indonesia, Uzbekistan are among the honored guests of the forum, as well as a representative of the Russian commercial mission in Kazakhstan.
